Dirt Showdown Steam Install Sucks By: Steve McQuarrie, on September 29, 2015 Pros: Cons: "I've bought this game and got it today, but why does it need steam, and why is it trying to download 5.6GB Data. I expected this game to be on the DVD so I can install it and play it straight away. The files on the DVD total around 6.12GB so why can't it just get the files from the DVD like any other game. This sucks! HOW CAN I MAKE STEAM INSTALL FROM THE DVD LIKE OTHER GAMES DO. What's the point of having 6GB of data for the game on the DVD when it seams all you need to pay for is the license... |

Decent but no classic By: M. Wright "Rob Johnston", on June 11, 2013 Pros: Cons: "I have played all the DiRT games and have to say this would be my least favourite (DiRT 2 was long but worth it) The tour is a little short with no real challenge, the joyride is quite fun but gets repetitive and you find yourself doing donuts and drifting over and over. I quickly completed the game and all missions in about 6 hours. The positives are some of the new modes can be relatively fun especially the 8ball where you could be clearly in the lead but lose it all by... |

basic game By: Keith Woolven, on February 11, 2013 Pros: Cons: "Even with the disc version, I found that some game types were hard to understand. As I am used to manual transmissions, I found the auto ONLY on this game to be very slow. ME: Oh, hey gearbox. yes, you. Could you engage forward when you're not busy? GEARBOX: Yeah, just a second, I'm doing something. ME: Like what? You're a gearbox, it's your ONLY job... |

The DiRT series slides right off the rails By: Peej Maybe "Peej", on July 31, 2012 Pros: Cons: "Good handling and some excellent car choices can't save what is essentially an asset-stripped Codemasters game, that's repetitive and seems to crap all over the legacy laid down by the last two excellent DiRT titles. Mostly concentrated around destruction derby-style races, with a bit of hooning (showing off) in between, DiRT Showdown really isn't worth bothering with if you enjoyed DiRT 2 or 3. When will Codemasters learn that designing a game that ticks all the right boxes for the american... |

Codemasters on top form again! By: Ben Jones, on July 3, 2012 Pros: Cons: "For what this game contains (all the dlc and everything) it is great value for the price. That's not the reason you should buy it however. You should buy it because it's a great game that builds upon DiRT 2 in so many ways I've always been a fan of rally games and was firstly considering buying the standard edition, but for the extra few £££'s is settled for this one. The first time I played it I loved it. It's such an immersive game that maintains it's realism whilst still having that arcade... |

CRASH, BANGh....****updated**** By: Haunted Nostril "TaT", on May 27, 2012 Pros: Cons: "So Dirt's gone all gnarly and trashy eh? Well according to an interview I read Codemasters has decided to split the series in half and leave the hoonigan style car wiggling and general motor based tomfoolery to the "Showdown" camp thus letting the core Dirt series deal with the proper meat and veg of rally driving. So how has it worked out? Well I'll try to keep in mind the aforementioned parting of the series notion in my mind while I pick away at this the more angsty face of Dirt... |

No extras needed.. By: sychnant, on August 16, 2011 Pros: Cons: "Just to update the info about ËDWARD,s"earlier review.. You DONT need to purchase any extras to play this very good game. They offer extra cars etc in the game for money but thats all they are.EXTRAS...just an advertisng ploy to get money off you ( if you are dumb or rich enough to buy them)The game is a fun standalone game with loads of tracks and cars, more than dirt 2 in fact. So buy it and enjoy it.. |
