By: Beeds, on June 26, 2015

"Been playing these games avidly since champ manager and whilst theres no doubt the game has been vastly improved since those days maybe its time the developers spent a bit more energy on the match day graphics rather then the more conversational elements like pre and post match questions, is there anybody who does not let the assistant handle that?.
I imagine the next installment will comprehensively replicate the experience of a manager arguing with his wife over that fact he loves the...

2 Star Rating Manager is a passenger.
    By: D. Gillaspy "gillaspy2005", on November 21, 2014

"first FM I have purchased for 3 years and a mistake, the sats and database are there, the training board etc its all there. the control over what your team does on the pitch is not though. Teams score from crosses almost every time, your tactics feel ineffectual and you are just a frustrated apssenger along for the ride. Back in 2011 and even 12 you knew you were in control but this version just feels like the game does what it wants.

I would advise anyone considering buying this to...

2 Star Rating Great Effort from SI, But Match Engine Awful.
By: Jack Williams, on November 9, 2014

"So it looks like this is the first 'proper' review on here without someone trying to be funny or troll.

The first thing you notice about the game is that the menu layout is completely different. SI have ditched the top menu bar in favour of a more aesthetically pleasing side menu bar with less options. I personally like this, as you'll find a lot of related elements of the game in the right areas, I.e. There is now a 'scouting' section which not only contains assignments, reports...

4 Star Rating Football Manager - in the palm of your hand
By: Stripeyfox, on April 11, 2014

"This is a excellent version of Football Manager but there are one or two things to consider before buying as it may not be for everybody. I am a long time player of Football Manager and its predecessor and for the most part have enjoyed the ever-evolving features of the game. However, the full PC version takes up a lot of time to play and as a working man with two kids, I simply don’t have that time, so the newer “Classic” version on PC is perfect for me.

    When SI...

2 Star Rating Football Manager 2014 - A let down
    By: C.B. Fawley, on February 7, 2014

"It pains me to be negative about a series of games I love, but the continuing theme of releasing a game which is unfinished and then patching it later is getting tiresome. It was released in October and now here we are in February - a full 4 months down the line - and there are still serious flaws with the match engine.

Most of the issues other reviewers have stated here are cropping up for me too; defenders who pay not a blind bit of notice to instructions and simply allow the AI...

2 Star Rating Upgrades are actually downgrades
By: Mr. Warren A. Smith, on February 4, 2014

"So i dont buy every football manager game. I can play one for 2 or 3 years before i buy an update. So know that the last one i played is 2012. However also know that i'm not terrible at the game. I'm average to good, and always do pretty well after trying different things out.

This one however anyone would think i am absolutely terrible at it. We'll come onto that soon and why that is.

The first things to note are my perceptions of whats new. The 2 main things that are new...

2 Star Rating I can play better football than Messi in this game.
By: Dez, on January 17, 2014

"I wish I could get a refund simply because FM2014 is so bad that I would rather play last year's version.

I couldn't even bother to try out all the other features -- why bother with new features when the match engine doesn't work properly?

If you buy this game, you are basically spending hours watching the following happen, no matter what team you choose, how good your players are.
    - Your strikers all become fernando torres: they will aim at the stands. You can try...

3 Star Rating Good tools - but a very minor upgrade for 2014

1 Star Rating I may be finally cured of my Football Manager addiction
By: Vernon T. Waldrip, on December 5, 2013

"I have spent (or 'wasted') a great deal of my life playing Football Manager or Championship Manager since the mid-90s, but that long run may have now come to an end. Football Manager 2014 is the worst in the history of the franchise and has gone massively backwards since the 2012 version.

As has become traditional, the first few weeks of owning this game are spent waiting for patches to rectify the many obvious bugs that somehow aren't worked out in advance. Does anybody actually...

1 Star Rating EA have let us down
By: Michael Burch, on September 27, 2013

    "Look at the cover

    See the words "Legacy Edition*"?

That means it's the same game as Fifa 13 (and Fifa Football) on the Vita but it has updated squads and kits to bring the clubs into line with the 2013/2014 season. So there are no gameplay or game mode updates what so ever. There are many, many websites confirming this, but just for one example...

1 Star Rating A complete disgrace.
    By: R J Coleman, on September 27, 2013

"FIFA 14 on the Vita is a fun game that is let down by a number of flaws and outright howlers.

As the back of the box claims this "legacy edition" of FIFA 14 provides you with "updated kits and rosters only" - a scandal in itself.

    But it gets worse.

Whilst kits all appear to be up to date, roosters are in fact NOT up to date.

Many transfers (particularly from the late end of the window) are missing and you must either use the edit mode or download the...
