Makes a nice change to play something a little different from the usual racing, sporting of just point and shoot games that are around now. |

Not XCOM, but still great 3rd Person Shooter. By: Steven Davison "Steven", on May 13, 2014 Pros: Cons: "First I need to say that this game has been massively misrepresented as an XCOM game. It’s set in the XCOM universe but that’s the end of it. Which is where the brunt of the negative reviews come from. That aside. This game is excellent. I will say give it enough time to get into the main story though, the first level doesn’t do the game justice. But it’s a 40 minute run to get past this “tutorial/prologue”... |

The Bureau: Worth it for about ?5 By: M Thompson, on April 29, 2014 Pros: Cons: "XCOM is a popular RTS-RPG that has recently been revived by previous generation of consoles. It started with Enemy From Within but prior to that game's release there were trailers for The Bureau. That was many years ago and a long drawn out complicated production is generally cause for concern. However The Bureau is actually a decent game and very enjoyable. I got my copy for ?5 including postage with amazon. I feel like I got my money's worth, but I'd be annoyed if I paid full... |

I huge missed opportunity By: G. Richardson, on January 12, 2014 Pros: Cons: "To begin lets just clear up one thing. This isn't in any shape or form an investigation style game. Its a straight forward FPS. Its Mass Effect but nowhere near as good, in any way. Its story line is clunky, its characters 2 dimensional including the hero, and the ending is a quick wrap up that is so incredibly unconvincing you wonder if the writer was late home for his dinner and just wrote 'The End' half way through his script. I had heard rumors that originally this was going to... |

Solid gameplay but unconvincing story and characters By: A. Whitehead "Werthead", on October 23, 2013 Pros: Cons: "1962. The Cold War is at its height. In great secrecy, President John F. Kennedy has ordered the founding of the Bureau of Operations and Command, code-named XCOM, which will coordinate the defence of the American homeland in case of a Soviet invasion. When Earth instead falls under clandestine attack by alien forces, XCOM's brief is changed to defend against the incursions. CIA Special Agent William Carter is recruited by XCOM as the alien attacks intensify and has to lead the fight back... |

Good but limited By: Barry Giles, on September 30, 2013 Pros: Cons: "I enjoyed the game especially the period feel , the hats and the smoking. felt a little let down as I would have like to participate in the r&d of weapons etc like in previous games. |

way better than gta By: G Stubbs, on September 29, 2013 Pros: Cons: "GTA is so overrated. Saints Row 4 is a LOT more fun and deserves the time of day. If you are looking for something with a bit more magic than the cookie cutter GTA, get this and you won't be disappointed. It's clear the 1star reviews are from GTA fanboys. |

So far So Good! By: Mike Norton, on September 2, 2013 Pros: Cons: "I loved all the XCOM/UFO games to date, and really enjoyed the remake (XCOM Enemy Unknown). So I pre-ordered The Bureau on this. The Jury is still out on The Bureau as I thought it would be the same strategic / tactical game that the others were. This is not the same, but mixes a first / 3rd person shooter with a tactical type approach. Similar to the previous games you need recruit and train (On the job) agents as they accompany you (Carter) through the missions. I am still not quite sure if I... |

After Enemy Unknown this was something of a disappointment. By: Chief., on August 24, 2013 Pros: Cons: "'The Bureau: XCOM declassified' is a tactical shooter somewhat in the style of Mass Effect that takes place in the U.S in 1962, a period filled with fear and paranoia, when the Cold War was getting hot, the space race was just beginning and the Communists were expected to attack at any moment - but when the attack did come it was not from where it was expected... In the game you play William Carter, a hard faced agent with more than a little bit of Clint Eastwood attitude about him... |
