System requirements: Train Simulator 2014 with European Community Assets Pack or Train Simulator 2014 updated from Train Simulator 2012 ** Operating system: Windows XP / Vista / 7 /8 ** Dual Core Processor (CPU): 2,6 GHz (for Vista / 7 / 8) ** RAM: minimum 2048 MB RAM ** Graphics card: Geforce® or AMD (ATI) Radeon® with at least 512 MB ** Installations-Size: 1.2 GB. The add-on "Koeblitzer Mountain Route" is a continued development of the freeware route Altenburg-Wildau by the Dutch developer Siegfried Derks, aka SAD. Geographically it is situated somewhere in the region of Trier, Germany. It has taken the developer two years to build this imaginary route which gives the impression to be a real-life scenery in the middle of Germany. *** This new third version of the route features a couple of improvements and expansions. The newly added ICE high speed track allows a maximum speed of 200 km/h. The new shunting yard Altenburg-North offers additional possibilities for creating sceneries. Rinckenburg shunting yard can now also be used for scenarios. The most important improvement in this new version of the route is the implementation of new modern HV signals.. The latest version features a proper route folder in Train Simulator so users of the previous version can continue using them. *** A lot of work has gone into modeling the vegetation. Weeds and wild bushes can be seen left and right of the tracks. The region thrives by its farmland. From corn to fruit, from grain to sunflower fields, everything that can be found in a landscape with these features is her to be seen. There are meadows with poppies during summer time while autumn is the time for wine and fruit harvesting. *** The add-on plays in the early years of 2000 when maintenance of tracks and rail institutions was not a priority. Stopping points and former stations are overgrown just as the unused tracks which haven't been used for a long time. Modern shelter huts can be seen beside old stations witch are no longer in service. Abandoned stopping points have made way for car traffic and switch towers have been modeled with broken windows as dispatch and organization have all been centralized.. Everything that reminds the rail fan of the good old times can be seen in this add-on not only in a melancholic way but also with a wink of the eye. Nature is claiming back its territory. Drive along the electrified main line and step up to its challenges: unfenced crossings, gradient and speed changes will need your complete attention. Enjoy the beautiful scenery while comfortably driving on the branch tracks through the Koeblitzer mountains or feel the stress while trying to keep the regional express on time. *** The many connecting tracks hold the room for new and interesting scenarios. The developer Jan Bleiß has placed the signals at their correct spots and Mathias Gundlach and his team have contributed their corrected signals. The team of German Railroads has provided two locomotives of the 143 series, one Köf series 323 as well as mint colored n-wagons with a drivable control car BDnzrf.. Features: • 75 km challenging virtual railway line • About 50 km electrified dual track main line and partly electrified branch tracks • Beautifully modeled vegetation, accurate buildings and old railway structures • Relive the working day of a train driver in 8 demanding missions with different locomotives • Additional rolling stock: BR143, BR323 Köf II, BDnzrf with a drivable control car • New ICE track • Almost 20 km of new track for high speed trips at a maximum speed of 200 km/h • New signaling system.

2 Star Rating Basically a good simulator marred by to many niggling faults
By: Amazon Customer, on April 5, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"After first the first few days of playing the Train Simulator I would have given it five stars it has good gameplay, the detail on the locomotives is very good but somewhat spoiled by the fact it is so dark very often you cant see it.
And in some of the scenarios the detail is very good having plenty of detail and are very atmospheric, then there are others that are the complete reverse.
Then after the first few days the negatives start appearing, the derailments for no apparent...

    4 Star Rating Like TS2014...
By: Dedonno Jason Enzo, on December 5, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This is latest of the yearly updates that seem to have become the norm from this developer (Dovetail Games).

Not a great deal has changed from TS2014, which I reviewed last year. The similarity is ok because if you already owned 2014, then this is a free upgrade, although I'd prefer to have a choice in the matter when it comes to upgrades. With this series, the upgrade is compulsory.

The most noticeable difference between this and the 2014 edition is the user interface,...

"i purchased this item for my 7 years old grandson , i oredered Train Simulator 2014 when it arrived it was packaged as Train simulator 2014 and the dvd itself showed it to be Train simulator 2014 however it loads and plays as Train simulator 2015 , the dvd when launching seems to take a while to start the game and goes throw a number of advertising pictures showing new trains available and i cant seem to be able to bypass the adverts which is frustrating especially for a child , also it has a...

1 Star Rating Only interested in money not game play.
By: Lee, on January 4, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This "sim" is fairly nice looking graphically but otherwise is not very realistic and is more aimed at the gaming community than the simulator community as that is where the money is.

The DLC is very expensive and if you want more than a couple of basic routes and loco's be prepared to pay!

The forums on steam have been closed by the producers of this game as many people pointed out the obvious flaws and lack of any real update to fix them. If you want a realistic train...

3 Star Rating Game is ok but where is the community?
By: Dedonno Jason Enzo, on November 22, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"After all the changes to the EULA for the TS2013 version of this game, I believed this game would take a dive. Instead, its popularity seems to have increased, and the DLC available for it has increased in both quantity and quality. Which is good news. TS2013 saw some excellent DLC routes available, like the Woodhead Route, the Marias Pass and new Western Lines of Scotland route (Port Road). There are also some excellent locomotives and rolling stock available, such as the Baldwin Centipede,...

3 Star Rating Decent enough but......
By: Geoffrey Easton, on October 9, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"....be prepared, this could be VERY expensive!

First of all, a couple of the tutorials don't work. Then the graphics, whilst decent enough, are nothing special considering this is a game where visual impact is so important. The reason is obvious; this is simply a re-hash of an old game with some new routes added and some other ones, including the tutorial route, taken out....hence the reason that doesn't work. And I was amazed to see what I thought was a printed manual....only it...

1 Star Rating Waste of time and money, outdated graphics
    By: 555 "555", on October 4, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"First of its basically a rip-off, an empty game with only 3 routes and couple scenarios to each with only about 6 locos to choose from,
Many trains on the game packaging cover (front and back) are NOT EVEN IN THE GAME!!!
    Deceiving the customer

To get the trains and more scenarios and routes you have to buy ULTRA EXPENSIVE DLCs, from which many cost more than the base game itself.
Its the same politics/sale strategy like sims 2&3, buy an empty game and spend a fortune...

    4 Star Rating Great software
By: Mr. Gordon Mclaren, on March 2, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Great software with downloadable add-ons. Only down-side is it connects to Steam website on opening, so if you are not in WiFi area, appears you won't be able to play. There may be a work-around, but I haven't found it.

4 Star Rating Best Train Sim yet but not perfect.
    By: Quaint1, on November 27, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I have used train simulator software for many years starting with the now defunct Microsoft Train Simulator. I purchased Railworks and was pleasantly surprised when it updated automatically to Railworks2. This is, in fact, a direct, but much changed, descendant of the original MS product and a user of MS Train Sim will notice the similarity of keyboard controls in Railworks expert mode. But they will also notice that much of the flexibility to select your own game parameters (Starting location,...

4 Star Rating Worth the long wait
    By: C. J. Maley, on September 25, 2007
    Pros:
    Cons:

"At last the West Coast Express is here! With one or two reservations I do feel it has been worth the long wait. The first is that I had expected the maximum line speed to be 125mph but it seems to have been done under the old 110mph limit of the previous class 87's and 90's. This would have been OK but the first scenario involves a Pendolino from Euston to Birmingham and this allows 9 minutes for the 17.5 miles to Watford Junction. Even allowing for 125 mph running over most of that run it...
