Back to Basics By: Maxy, on April 7, 2014 Pros: Cons: "I had never heard of this game and only brought it because my game collection was starting to look thin. I'll start by saying that in this present time, the game is total trash... However holds a certain novelty to it. it takes you back to all the FPS games that were on PS2. it lacks the realistic-ness in the characters movements which means i can focus less time on my aiming because i dont have to worry about the characters body catching with with my next decision. For... |

A lot better than the other reviewers say. By: A. M. Campbell, on January 12, 2014 Pros: Cons: "I wanted Painkiller on Xbox but it was announced but never released on the original xbox. So when I heard it was coming to 360 I was like I would get it when it was cheap. Last week it was £7:45 and it is worth it. What you get is an old school shooters where they throw enemies at you like there is no tomorrow. This is a retro fps but I get really tired of the call of duty lead you everywhere game play. This game does not lead you anywhere you need to make up your own mind on... |

Uncut? is that supposed to be a joke? By: Terry 309, on November 19, 2013 Pros: Cons: "Upon seeing this game, you already know it is one of those under the radar games that nobody knows about or plays, this of course had me intrigued as i am a fan of dark gothic settings and i hadn't played an old school shooter before so i thought it was worth a try, these are my results. The game markets itself as a trigger happy bouncy old school fps with a metal soundtrack which transitions during battle. Painkiller is essentially a no brainer shoot everything type game, think... |

Its OK... By: ImperialRacoon, on October 13, 2013 Pros: Cons: "I bought this as I remember playing on the PC years ago and thinking it was awesome. It's a good game but to be fair gets pretty repetitive after a while on the XBox. It's also a bit of a struggle to see things I find despite switching the brightness up on the TV. Whereas on the PC you're a lot closer to the screen on the XBox you're further away and ultimately the whole game is you running around in low light. Its also a lot tougher on the XBox as on the PC you're using a mouse so can pinpoint... |

Really fun FPS BUY IT!!! :) By: Michael Rogers "Gamer", on July 2, 2013 Pros: Cons: "The gameplay is really fun and the level design is great, demon killing on the optimized Unreal 3 engine. The movement is soo perfect and fast with the classic B-Hop feature old school games have. There's many weapons and they have cool secondary fire options. The music suits the game very well and the sound effects are great. I can't really fault the game it's really that fun and even more playing story mode with a friend :) |

Simple, bloody fun! By: Mark Andrew, on July 1, 2013 Pros: Cons: "Simplicity can be refreshing: Painkiller proves this with it's old-skool take on the FPS. Tons of enemies, great weapons and a simple, yet plausible narrative that see's the player tasked with fighting his way through Hell itself. If you like Doom and Serious Sam then Painkiller should be an automatic purchase. It's a charming title that relies on trigger clenching, putting more complex strategy aside in favor of the biggest gun wins. Yep, that's right. Grab that all powerful... |

A good remake of a great game. By: Mr. A. G. Owen "ham_green", on November 23, 2012 Pros: Cons: "One of the many charms of the Painkiller series is the lack of a convoluted storyline, so in honour of that I shall cut to the chase. The original game was never really more than a stress-buster, and neither is its remake - your character is faced with wave after wave of laughably weak enemies, which you can cut down in various gruesome fashions using an array of powerful weapons. Take down one at a time with the shotgun, or allow a crowd to develop before scattering them to the four... |

Oh dear...worst game of 2009 contender By: MisterDerp1975, on June 24, 2009 Pros: Cons: "Haze and Lair were both the tragic results of a developer failing to live up to expectation. It came as quite the surprise; despite the pedigree of the two studios involved adding integrity to their lofty ambitions and haughty promises, the titles turned out to be possibly two of the worst this generation has yet to see. And we all know, of course, how costly such disasters proved to be for everyone involved. Blue Omega, on the other hand, has approached Damnation from the opposite... |

"Damnation" - a swear word to express anger and disappointment By: ratstails "ratstails", on May 26, 2009 Pros: Cons: "Just finished the game in solo mode! It took me 2 days. The fact that I sat and played through to the end is the main positive point, earning the 3 stars, amongst my criticisms...of which there seem to be many... The levels are epic, but I found that rather annoying. Essentially there are 4 VERY long sections with a lot of repetition, which makes the game feel samey. The graphics are more Xbox than 360, with very flat looking textures. There are a number of bugs, one which put me... |
