The game is not as linear as i expected , it has an RPG angle to it . Interesting story so far , graphics look nice , the voice over is not that cool and i don't enjoy the soundtrack .

4 Star Rating a great online game
    By: S P Mead, on May 7, 2016
    Pros:
    Cons:

"“Destiny” is a first-person shooter videogame that incorporates both role-playing gaming (RPG) and massively multi-player online gaming (MMO) elements. This videogame has no off-line single-player campaign story – but, instead, is an online only game. It’s intended to be played alongside other gamers, with each player occupying part of a shared-world environment. It was made by Bungie – who created the original Halo games – and is, in certain ways, similar to...

    Pros:
    Cons:

"Initially I was very worried reading all of the 1 star reviews and I was almost completely put off from reading it but the comments aren't accurate. I can see why they thought the content was faulty as I did when I first received the game but it's just that PSN makes it a confusing process. After you install the game, boot it up and it will give you another small download that will take a few seconds, then after it takes you into the character creation menu go back to the PSN homepage, go to...

5 Star Rating Review from a Stormcaller
By: Dixie Nix, on March 11, 2016
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I am quite new to Destiny. I only started this when The Taken King was released so for me it was such good value for money. I can see why people who already paid for the base game and the two DLCs before taken King would be annoyed at paying full price for The Taken King as well. But I am lucky to not be one of those people. I have this game on my Xbox one. But I really wanted to play with online friends on my PS4 too, so I got this game again. I really do love this game, so playing through it...

    3 Star Rating Quite neutral
By: Sabir Ahmed, on January 23, 2016
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I'm at a neutral standpoint on this game. The graphics are among the best I've seen for the PS4 and it can be a pretty fun game, depending on how you play it. Playing it along can get dull pretty quickly. However, my quarrel isn't with the gameplay. A lot of games can get dull playing alone. The reason I'm neutral, and it may seem unfair, is the hype that surrounded the game. It was dubbed a game that would "revolutionise first-person shooters" when it hasn't done that by any means. It...

    By: PSN/XBL Aquila1701, on January 6, 2016
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I can't really fault this newly packaged up version of Destiny having bought the original single Destiny release on PS4 for about ?10 on Amazon a few months back - just before the Taken King was released funnily enough. Sure enough I found there was then very little to offer in that features and content were limited once this was released and I didn't fancy paying ?40 for TTK to be able to access it. Fast forward a couple of months and I was bought an Xbox One by a wife who I'm starting to...

4 Star Rating Great game for PvP, kicking graphics even on Xbox 360, but lacks story
By: Crazy Shopper Alex, on January 2, 2016
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This is the only version of Destiny you should buy. It is a nice game, but lacks a longer story line (or according to some, story at all). It might also set you off to see that the setting is something between sci-fi and mystical infused with "magic".

It really excels at the co-operative missions (the daily and weekly missions) as well as the PvP (player-vs-player) gameplay. If you are not into PvP gaming and won't play those missions, then there is a big chance you'll find...

5 Star Rating Flawed yet compelling...
By: idoru, on December 30, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"As these reviews demonstrate, Destiny polarises opinion. The game is best viewed as a work in progress, that attempts (not always successfully) to blend a variety of game types in a mashup of first-person shooter and a loot-driven role-playing game like Diablo, with a clear nod to the esoteric online and narrative tropes of the Dark Souls series. As a shooter, the game is near flawless, with class-leading mechanics that deliver the long-standing Bungie goal of creating a loop of '30 seconds of...

    Pros:
    Cons:

"Year one players were told to spend another ?40 to re-unlock all the content they could play a day before this launched. I bought the Dark below and the house of wolves DLC but i was not allowed on trials or able to do any strikes or crucible. It made the game redundent, and I'll be damned if i am going to pay another ?40 to get a quarter of the content. Fan boys of the franchise can defend it all they want, this is simply not worth your time and money - especially now that bungivision has...

4 Star Rating Great game but to fully experience it play with some friends.
By: Amazon Customer, on November 23, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I was always hesitant on buying Destiny when it first released, even though I had been a long time fan of Bungie from the original Halo CE release. The game surprised me, the combat is fun and rewarding the loot system to begin with is much like Borderlands with the best drops coming from the enemies. The main campaign is hard to follow and not easy to grasp with many of the missions taking the same repetitive approach, becoming boring after a while (when played alone)
    However when played...

By: Luke Williams, on September 23, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Engrossing story for once, so many new quests to do, so much loot to get..

One problem- it doesn't work! Despite working fine until this expansion, I am kicked from Destiny every 5 minutes by a bewildering collection of errors. Bungie has an absolutely abysmal support system, with no direct means to file complaints or ask for tech support- only to post on their forums.

Until you publicly hear confirmation of the errors plaguing many 360 users by bungie (their forum is full...

1 Star Rating Good game but completely let down by money hungry developers
    By: Will O, on September 16, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Destiny is a good game for ~?10, but only if you want to play the off-line story. If you want to play on-line multiplayer you will become extremely frustrated with getting killed In PvP (you can not level up without buying expansion packs), so will probably end up forking out an extra ?55 for the DLC bundle. The developers have designed the game with revenues in mind and have done all they can to limit your progress and get you to spend extra cash. I devided to leave this negative review when...

By: Hughes, on September 13, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Do not buy this game. The developers, Bungie, who employ a clinical psychologist to develop its gameplay and player progression, have cheated those of us who paid for the original and DLCs at near ?20 a go twice with the Dark Below and House of Wolves, now release the Taken King and make the original and DLCs redundant. They now expect us to pay the ?42 price for a new game in order to make it worthwhile to continue playing it.

1 Star Rating Destiny for xbox 360. What an utter disappointment.....
By: shadowspirit, on July 11, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"First of all, I love all the Halo games and playing Destiny, but when you play Destiny on an xbox360 though... what a total disappointment every single time. If it is not the constant crashing, glitches and need for updates that will annoy you to death, its the consistency of the system in its tendency to log you out of your gameplay. Dude, WTF.... ? Better to get the game on the playstation consoles or download it somehow for pc or macintosh. An absolutely excellent game to play I must say,...

After the first couple of months my enthusiasm waned, even though the graphics, atmospheric sound, character design and choice of weaponry are all superb, the big let down is after you reach level 20 in the game it becomes nothing more...

    Pros:
    Cons:

"I was really looking forward to this game I pre ordered it, so I had access to the beta. The beta was fun it was something new and fresh when the game arrived I was expecting to go to new planets and I thought there was going to be loads of new content and most importantly I thought I was gonna have fun. There was a real lack in content(just abit more that the beta), I did have fun but this didn't last long as once you've done all the missions your still a really low level then you need to...

At first it seemed fun so I recommended it to my husband and brother, who also bought copies. with the addition of two playmates however Destiny went from fun to almighty fun! The game really comes into it's own and has a different dimension with you have friends you can play with however if I was playing alone I would not think the game was anything special. 5 Star Rating Steelport gets ported!
    By: Mr P., on January 24, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"2 things you need to know...

    1. "IV" is a direct copy of the PS3 with just a little polish here and there. You do get all the PS3 DLC included here though so think of this release as an "ultimate" version of IV rather than anything new. The game is as good as ever (running around the Alien infested city of Steelport whilst beating enemies with a huge purple dil....you get the idea!) and a good alternative to GTAV.

4 Star Rating One for the Grinders
    By: tallpete33, on January 9, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"If you're looking to buy Destiny then this is the edition to get as it comes with the first two expansions which retail at £34.99 for both so (currently) at forty pounds it's a no-brainer really. If you decide down the line you're not keen then you can get most of your money back selling these alone. The LE is a nice set, particularly the art cards, weapons manual/art book and the steel case all in a chunky box with other DLC and bits and bobs.

As for the game itself it has divided...

4 Star Rating Get used to playing the same missions
By: Johno, on October 29, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This is very good........... but, and it is a big but, it is unbelievably repetitive.

You'll complete the story pretty quickly with it leaving lots of questions (so I'm hoping the DLC will tie them up)

You'll get to LV20 and then it's replaying the same missions and strikes over and over and over and over and over and over (you get my point) again.

The daily and weekly missions are a good touch, but they are missions and strikes you played before only now...

5 Star Rating events etc) and would have probably felt more detached from the rest of the game - like a separate part in a similar way to how
By: Mozzy, on October 21, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"After spending hundreds of hours and have all 3 classes at 28+ with at least 3 exotic pieces of armour and all sub-classes maxed out, I feel I can add my comments now.

Destiny's campaign is disappointing and the mission structure is quite repetitive. The universe, back story etc Bungie have created would have made an epic campaign if created in a more traditional style. The potential makes the 'story' we did get seem even more disappointing. That being said, I doubt the Traditional...

    "Just gets worse

A few weeks ago i would have given Destiny a 3 star rating, its engine is good and the graphics are very good, and at that time i had some hope that Bungie would sort the problems out and improve the game over time, not just the upcoming dlc but fix the reward and loot system, which are totally broken, but that hope has been destroyed by the patches and hotfixes that Bungie has released.

The First Hotfix was to reduce the spawn rate and certain places and...

    "Pros
    Excellent weapon range and accuracy.
At times the graphics are amazing
Deep levelling system (though some aspects are overly complicated).
Strike co-op missions and competitive crucible multiplayer, where your levelling up really pays off.

    Cons
    A shallow non-story
Tedious and repetitive objectives - fight off waves of enemies while your robotic 'Ghost' assistant scans some vague object of interest.
    Little variation in enemies

1 Star Rating I HATE Destiny with every ounce of my being!!!
By: Duncan, on October 2, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Destiny is quite possibly the most infuriating game ever made, and deserves all of the criticism it is currently receiving.

    1) The marketing surrounding this game has been completely misleading, it is none of the things we were led to believe for the 18+ months of hype. It borrows from many different genres but fails to commit fully to any, therefore leaving all areas significantly underdeveloped and hollow.
    2) Destiny is an incomplete game, for which the campaign can be...

By: Razor, on September 25, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"A lot of the reviews I have read go on a lot about the hype that preceded the release of this game. I have made it a point not to take any notice of pre game release hype as 9 times out of 10 it leads to an anti climax.
I brought this game because it looked good on the game play trailers and because I know the makers usually turn out fairly decent games.
from the start after choosing your characters class (Hunter, Titan or Warlock) and a little customisation (which is fairly easy and...

3 Star Rating Farming in Space.
    By: G. Duncan "Mr G", on September 23, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Predictably, this game gets people's goat. Only last night I was moaning to a clan mate about my lack of decent loot and how I could not earn any more currency, but could not spend the 25000 on anything useful, either. That's the main problem with the game; your efforts are not adequately rewarded from normal play; you have to resort to grinding and farming - two staples of the MMO that I don't find particularly appealing. And of course, for more entertainment in the shape of Raids, you have to...

3 Star Rating You can only make a first impression once. To me Destiny has no future with this lackluster game design and universe building.
By: Ralph Schmidt, on September 18, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

    "Digital Guardian Edition Preorder

What only works in the game is the mechanics(gunplay+moving) as it's quite close to Halo only faster and the random cooperation between players has a nice touch.
What does not work? All the rest.
The story is completely forgettable and the narration in how it's presented is "The Event" bad.
The levels while beautiful feel lifeless and bland to me and that will only be amplified because you replay the same locations endlessly.
    The...

3 Star Rating But looking past the hype this game does offer a really fun experience, if slightly watered down
By: Alfie Wyman, on September 18, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Destiny has been hyped more than any other game to come out... Ever, probably.

But looking past the hype this game does offer a really fun experience, if slightly watered down. The main issue is the story and the lack of interesting characters. Bungie are a huge company, the supposed $500,000,000 that was spent on the development and marketing would have me believe that they can hire a decent writer. I would be wrong.

    The Story and Characters:

    Peter Dinklage is...

4 Star Rating Brilliant game - with just a few creases to iron out.
    By: Jam "jam_butty", on September 18, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This game launched after a huge, possibly unprecedented, amount of hype. Maybe that's part of the reason that gamers' opinions have been so split. Or maybe it's literally that no matter what, you cannot please everyone. Because I have to say, I'm really surprised at some of the uber-negative reviews. While I accept the game is not "perfect", many people's gripes seem to me to be completely unreasonable.

To throw in my own penny's worth, I think this is a brilliant game. It looks...

4 Star Rating MMO/RPG a real possibility with Online Open-ended Nature?
By: Bruce "from Brighton", on September 16, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I actually ordered this game in March 2013 based on impressions that made it look much more like an RPG than is actually the case, now that the game is complete - there has obviously been a lot of hype about this game and the PS4 needs a big game to push sales - but playing it on PS3, it's not as bad as some people are making out.

I liked the graphic look of it and there are some wonderful backgrounds - the city is very well realised. In fact I found it quite interesting to wander...

By: FallenGrace, on September 15, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Destiny is developer Bungie's first attempt at a new IP since it created Halo all those years ago. Having broken away from Microsoft's ownership and partnering with Activision, hype for this project has been huge and while it succeeds in many ways, it fails pretty dismally in others.

This is a hard game to describe, it's a science fiction first person shooter where you play the role of a gaurdian whoose job it is to protect hummanity on earth and in the stars from the darkness that...

    Now, onto the game...

The game itself was very good to start with, entering the unknown, the social tower, unlocking different stuff each level, etc, etc.
I thought I was going to play this game for months on end, how wrong was I!?

Problem being, the story missions are ALL the same. Go to place, let your robot hack system, fight enemies, fight boss, mission end.

    By: T.K., on September 13, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I'll pre-face this review with this fact: I did enjoy playing Destiny. I have a lot of criticisms of it and I think it was hugely disappointing - but it was simple fun. If you have a few friends to play with, you'll get the most out of it. This isn't in any way a bad game that you should avoid, it's just one you should lower your expectations for and consider whether you'll be happy to pay full price for it.

3 Star Rating A soulless feat of engineering.
By: Mr. Thomas G. Powell, on September 11, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Destiny was advertised as the ultimate 'hybrid' game, a game that would extract the best of Loot n' Shoot from Borderlands and skilfully combine it with the story driven shooters of Halo and, to a degree, the RPG/Sci Fi elements of the Mass Effect series. Adding to this already heady mix would be an element of online interaction, World of Warcraft lite.

I desperately wanted to love a game lauded as the most expensive of all time. Without doubt the graphics are beyond comparison,...

2 Star Rating Average. 300 million budget, really?
    By: K. Johnson, on September 10, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"What a disappointment this game is. I loved BETA, I loved ALPHA. I must have put in about 40 hours on those before the game came out and after a 10 hour straight play on launch day I am feeling very deflated.

It's not that the game isn't fun, which would likely have killed it completely (the shooting gameplay is great). It's everything else. It feels so damn empty, I was expecting this to be an MMO perhaps of the likes of Guildwars 2 with gameplay from Borderlands, but what it...

    By: Mr. H. Waring "www.fuzzyfeltmoomins.co.uk", on September 10, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I went into this game with an open mind, hoping for something quite amazing, if the hype is anything to be believed. After putting a good day's worth of hours into it, I have to say I have come away feeling a little disappointed. The game certainly isn't bad, but if feels very generic and similar to style to so many other FPS.

On the PS3 the game plays really well, with good performance and no lag. Unfortunately the graphics are nothing spectacular on this platform. Certainly not in...

    Pros:
    Cons:

"As much as I wanted to fall in love with this game I can't help but draw comparisons with the Borderlands franchise which, in terms of gameplay is incredibly similar to this game. The basic premise of each mission is to fight your way through groups of enemies throughout a map to reach an ultimate end goal, usually being either a boss battle or defending a position from waves of steadily increasing numbers of enemies. I've sunk around 15 hours into Destiny so far and I can't help shaking the...

"Great production values, looks great, plays well and even more surprising is that I haven't been thrown out of the server due to it crashing yet!

So why only three stars? For a game that has received this much hype - it is proof that 'living up to the hype' is a high bar that even a couple hundred million dollars can't reach.

This game is not revolutionary, nor is it evolutionary - unless you take into account the perplexing way they've gone about releasing it and...

Unfortunately I soon realised that it made no difference to the story. All I did was bash buttons in a different location and then join the main story again. I wanted to have an effect on the story arc with my choices, find out what would happen if I joined the other side, but I still ended up watching exactly the same clips with...

So why did I decide to get The Sims 3 for my ps3? Well in truth, I didn't. That is to say that this game was gifted to me for Christmas from a well-meaning relative. Of course I was grateful for the gift, but inside I was sick to my stomach. 'Not this. Anything but this...' I thought.

But my goodness, how things have changed...
