4 Star Rating Good choice for fans of RE 4/5/6, but best played in local co-op.
By: Matthew Foot, on April 30, 2018
    Pros:
    Cons:

"The disc has all the extra content on it (episodes, costumes, etc.), no DLC codes so it should be fine to buy it second-hand. Much prefer this to the style of RE7. Strangely, the campaign and raid modes both have split screen, but the campaign lacks online co-op.

4 Star Rating Classic game and still very enjoyable, if a little dated.
By: Steve Kelly, on December 10, 2017
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Classic game. Enjoyed playing it again, even if it feels a little date now. Would have been nice if the graphics had a bit of an update for PS4, but I guess it probably wouldn't have been worth all the effort for Capcom for the potential returns. Still nice to be able to play on PS4.

    Pros:

"OK with the test of times the controls may be a tad clunky but that being said a small price to pay for a classic title and my opinion the best value for money in the RE franchise. Nostalgia value 100%.

By: Mr Black, on January 22, 2016
    Pros:

"Two amazing survival horror games for ?23. Can't go wrong. Firstly, Resident Evil Zero. A prequel to the original game. You play as S.T.A.R.S officer Rebecca Chambers who has to team up with escaped convict Billy Coen to survive a twisted world full of danger. You begin on a claustrophobic train with the sound of rain pounding on the roof, it's awesomely atmospheric. Zombies, Dogs, Human sized leech monsters, giant bats, giant centipedes, killer monkeys, all must be dealt with. From the train...

    By: Paul E., on August 21, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

""What are ya buying? ...Stranger" Well, Resident Evil 4 of course. I'm not really into resident evil if I'm honest, but this is one of my all time favorite PS2 games! Masses of heart pounding, frantic finger & thumb bashing fun! A very detailed and gory action game indeed, corny story-line and characters, but I love it! A great value game!

"A little and personal overview of "Resident Evil 4 HD (PC DVD)" available for PC

    Introduction
If you are into "gaming", then you'll probably know "Resident Evil 4"
It is a fan favorite and it has been praised as one of the best games of the entire franchise!
Almost 10 years later, Capcom re-release this classic in a revisited HD update for the PC... Is this upgrade worthy of attention ?

4 Star Rating Beware the Raid Mode!
By: Winston Butler, on May 31, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"The main game (Campaign Mode) is a fine return to form for the series. It plays like the earlier games and that is no bad thing. It's a little on the short side and it's not without its flaws, hence the four-star rating.

It is the Raid Mode, however, that is the real star of this show. Beware the Raid Mode because it will consume your every waking hour - it is that addictive! Playing it will result in divorce or separation, your children being taken into care and your pets leaving...

    3 Star Rating Hugely conflicted.
By: CraigL, on February 7, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Having played through all 4 stories in this game now I don't know whether to give it 1 star or 5, which is why I've settled on 3. There are some very entertaining sections in each character arc, but there are some massively frustrating, clunky and downright annoying elements too.

Most reviewers supply their Res history, so, if anyone is interested, my first PS1 game was Res1, which I loved. Res2 and 3 were equally brilliant for me and equally replayed over and again. I was unsure of...

2 Star Rating Resident Evil...... SUX
By: J. Clarke "Alright Sally", on November 5, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

    "Introduction
2009's Resident Evil 5's premise was first seen as questionable - swapping the dark and murky streets of Raccoon city, the grim n' grey surroundings of 4, - in favour of the scorching terrain of africa. Despite the lack of horror and thrills, its action was unrivalled and was a blockbuster title - punching boulders into volcanos and all. Yet no.6 tries to go one further... or 3 further, as this time there are initially 3 campaigns to scour through, each one consisting of 5...

"This game rocks,i just completed resi 5 and my view now is resident evil stoped making resident evil games at resident evil 3 although ive not played resi 4 yet.
why this game is so good in comparison.,.......
the camera angles allow for very good room detail its scarier because you cant see what coming up, the typewriters are very good as it adds tension.
The music is unreal the puzzels are very good you must play this game and get lost in it.
on resi 5 you cant go back and explore...

3 Star Rating what have Slant Six done to Resi
By: Su, on March 25, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I was really looking forward to this game. I pre-ordered it back in December. I've been playing it since I arrived home from the store with it and I am incredibly disappointed.

The first thing is that Capcom may have its name on this game (and in retrospect may wish they hadn't), it is in fact the offspring of a company called Slant Six. I am informed that Slant Six has been responsible for some of the worst games available.

It is a team based game, but you can play it...

5 Star Rating Leon Kennedy has a lot to answer for
By: Su, on December 20, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"It is 6 years since the Racoon City T-virus outbreak and one of the few survivors, ex-rookie cop Leon Scott Kennedy, now works for the President's Special Task Force. Unfortunately for Leon, his first assignment was supposed to be protecting the President's daughter, Ashley Graham, but she was kidnapped the day before he was due to take over, and now he has to find her. Well, that's Leon's story and he's sticking to it.

I never thought that I'd enjoy a first person shooter (FPS); to...

5 Star Rating The best Resident Evil experience
By: CJ, on October 13, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This remake of the original Resident Evil is in my opinion the best of all the games in the series. It is the true epitome of what people think of when they consider classic RE; dark, scary, atmospheric and tense with a great story, cool characters and lots of puzzles, all the while being genuinely fun to play. The graphics, music and sound effects are beautiful, even by today's standards and since there are two characters you can choose to play, (plus plenty of outfits and weapons to unlock)...

By: Su, on August 2, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"There have been a number of gruesome murders in the forests on the outskirts of Raccoon City. The city's normal police department appears to be incapable of finding the culprits (whether they are animal or human) so the STARS (Special Tactics and Rescue Squad) have been drafted in to help. Bravo team was sent in to do the initial sweep but their helicopter malfunctioned and they had to make an emergency crash landing. With nothing being heard from Bravo team since their last Mayday call...

"As alot of the other reviewers have noted the game does have some flaws and I don't need to repeat the things already listed here. However despite all this I still say this is a great game on any format. I have played it on both PS2 and GC as well and I would say that the PC version is still worth playing.
The storyline is interesting and it is a very large game taking upwards of 10 hours to complete on easy level. The hard level also adds a few extra areas to the game and so extends the...

By: Dr Evil, on December 4, 2007
    Pros:
    Cons:

"'Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles' is an on-rails, arcade shoot 'em up, taking you back through Resident Evils 0, 1 and 3 from a new perspective, giving you the full story of the T-Virus outbreak. You take the role of either Rebecca or Billy in Resident Evil 0, Chris or Jill in Resident Evil and Carlos or Jill (again) in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

The Umbrella Chronicles makes full use of the Wii's interactive controls with the remote used as the gun or knife...

5 Star Rating The perfect game
By: Liz, on August 4, 2007
    Pros:
    Cons:

"In my humble opinion, Resident Evil 4 is the perfect game. It looks fantastic (really the acme of PS2 graphics), sounds fantastic and plays fantastic. There is heart pounding action, horror, gore galore and even a little comedy. While the game isn't exactly scary, it manages to achieve something few have done in the genre - there is a constant feeling of dread, like you are just waiting for something bad to happen around that next corner or through that door (and particularly when you hear...

5 Star Rating Spanish tourism never looked so bleak
By: P. J. Bevan "Piratepete the old gamer", on July 19, 2007
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Having not played a Resident Evil since the very first one (didn't enjoy it), and spending the last ten years using a mouse and keyboard combination for all sorts of games, I had mixed feelings about this game from the start. A friend of mine had shown me the Gamecube version to which I was non-plussed.

Quite frankly after 15mins of playing it, I realised I was too scared to move around the village after dying several times. I was actually rooted to the spot in fear, unable to go on...

    Pros:
    Cons:

"I wont go into the story/gameplay here but I will tell you that if you are interested you should look up the GameCube version of this game instead.

Here's what you should know about this PC version:

    * Daylight is removed. Where the console version is lit up by yellowish daylight, the PC version is just grey dull textures.

    * Fog is removed. You can see at any distance and when opponents run into the supposed fog (that cannot be seen) they just vanish in thin...

    2 Star Rating Missed Opportunity
By: Dave, on February 10, 2007
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This is just a port of the PS2 game, when played at full resolution the characters look sharp however, the textures and backgrounds look shocking. Worse than the GC or PS2. Also while the GC cut scenes were actual in game cut scenes making it free flowing and beautiful to look at, the PC version has videos of these that cut in at a resolution of 536x600 which is ridiculous. There is no mouse support and trying to play this game without a game pad is impossible. No options to change sound level...

5 Star Rating A must buy
    By: ssl2003, on May 21, 2006
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I do not normally enjoy this type of game, but owing to the glittering reviews Resident Evil 4 received, I felt I would give it a go. Resident Evil 4 turns everything about the series on its head and vastly improves every aspect of it - from the graphics and sound to fundamental gameplay mechanics.

Resident Evil 4 is a BIG game. Not particularly in its length, which, at roughly 20 hours clocked time (but much longer when you take into account how often you die and have to re-start an...

5 Star Rating An era defining game
By: Daniel Groves, on May 16, 2006
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I have to admit; being a diehard Resident Evil fan I was a bit sceptical of this game at first due to departure of zombies and a completely different setting. But Capcom delivered the goods in this wonderful creation, which is Resident Evil 4.

After the disappointments of Outbreak and Outbreak: file 2, Capcom really needed to do a lot better in the making of this new game. I can say that they did not fail to deliver.

Resident Evil 4 makes up for the somewhat sketchy...

5 Star Rating An Amazing Achievement
By: Mr. SCM Bell "Black Cat Theory", on August 20, 2004
    Pros:
    Cons:

"It is perhaps a sad testimony to my own lack of common sense that I assumed that Resident Evil wouldn't be very good. A huge fan of the series since the beginning I was however very disappointed with Resident Evil Zero. Although the story - the events leading up to Rebecca Chamber's appearance in the mansion in the original game was a good one, the reality was formulaic, dull and had a slightly careless feel to it. The evidence presented in Zero along with bilge like the Onimusha titles had...
