5 Star Rating Best AC ever for me!
By: Markus Antonius, on May 17, 2016
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I'm a huge fan of stealth games. And always look forward to the next AC release. I never play AC 1-3 or any in between. And only started playing it from Black Flag.

Black Flag was awful. Pirates and Assassin's do not go well together.
AC Unity was a big improvement. And I like how it was based in France made the storyline more realistic and enjoyable.

But AC Syndicate tops them both for me. Now I don't know if its because it's based in London and I'm from the UK. But...

4 Star Rating May the Father of Understanding guide us all
By: Dominic Mason, on February 8, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"When Rogue was announced a lot of people said it was going to be a glorified DLC to Black Flag. They were wrong. While, yes, they did borrow a lot from Black Flag, the combat and naval combat being lifted straight from it, it is a good game in its own right. It should be noted that the modern day segments heavily reference the AC: Initiates game.

The story follows former Assassin Shay Cormac as he defects to the Templar Order after a mission causes him to create the 1755 Lisbon...

4 Star Rating good story line
By: max, on December 23, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Although this game is not the major ac game this year it is still very good and if you are an ac fan then you should certainly pick it up as the story line ties in very well with black flag, ac3 and unity.
the story on this game is most defiantly its strong point despite the fact it is short and is slightly boring at the beginning however as soon as soon as it gets going it is truly fascinating and is allot of fun. All the characters are actually quite interesting and I wish Ubisoft could...

5 Star Rating Assassins Creed Fan.... Biased review warning!!
    By: D. Maydew, on November 16, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I have all of the Assassins Creed Games to date for the Xbox 360, and was looking forward to getting my hands on this one to finish off the "OLD" generation of the series, and it's not disappointed me one bit!!
It's based on the 7 year war and is aimed around an Assassin called Shay that goes to the other side, which is a great twist and has all the elements of Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag. I know some AC purists will moan, but it's the way Ubisoft look like they're taking the...

4 Star Rating A copy of Black Flag, but a treasury of information on AC lore if you have the patience...
By: killercroc, on November 16, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Generically Rogue is a copy of Black Flag I won't deny it. The game play is majorly the same with minor tweaks here and there. Almost all side activities are the same also. The story itself however is a much needed link as it bridges the way from Black Flag to Rogue to Unity to AC3 - all in one game. Characters who seemed unimportant in the previous games have a new light shed upon them giving them purpose and the ability to strike chords within the gamer and it also opens the path for the...

5 Star Rating A Return To Form For The Creed
By: Neil Lennon, on November 6, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Avast ye scurvy land lubbing matey dogs, etc, etc.... If this game doesn't leave you talking like a pirate I don't know what would!

Assassin's Creed IV transports you into the world of 18th century pirates with a cast of colourful characters, stunning graphics and engaging game play. There have been a succession of rubbish pirate games released on the PS3 but finally here is one that really nails the whole genre and beats all competition hands down.

    Having played through...

5 Star Rating Excellent game from Ubisoft once again!
By: DTW, on November 4, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I am a huge fan of the Assassins Creed franchise and have purchased all of their games, completing each one in their entirety. Black Flag has certainly added to the franchise with a much larger map and the alternative plain of the Caribbean seas for your assassin to master. The changing climate and varying size/ability of foes on the sea creates a more enjoyable arena than the frontier of Assassins Creed 3.

The storey line has the usual twist and turns to capture audiences, but I...

By: CardiacGamer, on October 29, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I rarely review things, but after reading the negative reviews, I felt obliged in this case. People are complaining its similar to Assassins Creed 3. Tell me, what did you expect?
Now let me be clear, this is no GTA 5. But that's because its not meant to be! This game is designed with a completely different aim. But enough of that, let me get into it.

Gameplay: Now if your a fan of any other Assassins Creed game, your going to love this one. All the free running and movement has...

    5 Star Rating Excellent
By: Daniel, on August 2, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I had played all the other assassins creed games and since they had changed the mechanics of this game i was worrying if it would still be good, and i have to say that it was much better. First of all, the controls are much easier to use, and more basic than the other games. The single player mode is fantastic, and you have a choice of taking down the templars, running through the giant forests and through the trees to hunt, or even go on naval missions. The multiplayer is like a full game in...

3 Star Rating Good game, but the exclusive content is expired
    By: P. Duley, on May 30, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I have all the consoles, so choosing which version to buy, gave me a hard time. Fortunately, the PS3 version would include 60minutes of exclusive gameplay. So I ordered the PS3 version.

When I got the game and opened it, I tried to enter the code, but got an invalid message. I read through the manuals and saw that the code did only last until March 31st. I was not informed by this in any way.

I mean amazon should have informed me of this before my purchase.

    Just...

    Pros:
    Cons:

"my son got given this for christmas logically he wanted to play game 1 first, he found there was only one disc in the pack which was game 2, when placed in the ps3 he found you could select game 1 from the menu, however this is where the problems started. After clicking game 1 from the menu you are told that this game link has expired and you are taken to the playstation store where you are invited to purchase the game again for ?11.99. 4 Star Rating Give it time
    By: J. Smith, on December 30, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Having previously played and loved the other games in the series, I looked forward to this as a shift from the norm but still keeping what made the others great...and it does this...eventually.

The main issue this game has is the horribly long hand holding tutorials. For anyone who's played the series before, having to play for almost 5 hours before they take off the stabilisers is incredibly tedious and I very nearly gave up as I was quite bored.

    However once it lets go,...

    By: R. Thomas "pipedreamer57", on November 12, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

    "The good:
    - beautifully realised colonial America
    - smooth freerunning
    - satisfyingly vicious combat
    - improved hiding mechanic

    The bad:
    - patchy control mapping
    - unclear freerunning signposts
    - awkward combat mapping

    The ugly:
    - boring protagonist
    - contrived plot
    - tutorial lasts 3-5 hours - way too long

Let's start with the great things about this game. If you want to stop reading after that, then you haven't...

    By: L. Haywood, on January 14, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I have been a fan of the Assassin's Creed games since the first one and I was looking forward to seeing the return of Altair, as well as a lot of loose ends being tied up that have done nothing but multiplied over the sequels. So what was my reaction when I finished Assassin's Creed Revelations?

Well to put it lightly, I wasn't impressed at all. Read on if you want, but I'll warn you, there are some minor spoilers below.

First of all, everything just seems so rushed. And...

By: Mr. MP CZECHOWSKI, on November 15, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This is my first ever review so please be patient...:-)
I have had the game since friday so I have managed to clock more than 25 hours of gameplay and let me tell you - it is addictive as ever! All the features from previous games are here but every single thing is better. You can climb faster , kill quicker and charm the ladies more efficiently (just joking).
The gameplay is a killer for me - you can do whatever you please - what a very good sandbox playground! Assassins missions ,...

5 Star Rating Pretty darn good
By: Dave Mcconnachie, on November 19, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Once again the makers of the Assassin's Creed franchise have struck gold. The original game was good but repetitive so they improved on it, listened to what players were saying and gave us Assassin's creed two -better than the first yet with a couple of flaws. Brotherhood on the other hand is a further step up the road to perfection.

Graphically it is more or less identical to assassins creed 2, maybe a wee bit more polished in places and eagle vision seems to have been tweaked a wee...

3 Star Rating Beautiful, But Needs Variety
    By: S. Porter, on May 23, 2009
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Assassin's Creed is definitely a game that can't fail to impress when it's first installed. The scale and depth of the graphics, the smoothness of the animation and the atmospheric sounds combine to create a trully impressive gaming experience and it's easy to get drawn in as you explore the environment.

The combat is fairly easy and the range of stylish kill moves will sate your bloodthirst. It's just as satisfying to stalk city guards and silently kill them in broad daylight as...

3 Star Rating Gobsmacking Graphics; Gameplay is Like a Smack in the Gob
    By: J. Patching "panzer-attack", on January 3, 2008
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Assassins Creed gets top marks for style. The graphics are astounding and everything about it is just so slick, even down to the loading screen. For the first hour or so of playing the game you'll be perfectly happy just wandering around and basking in how gorgeous everything looks.

However, the gameplay itself is somewhat lacking. Assassins creed bascially consists of 5 or 6 "sub-games" (such as pick-pocketing or flag collecting) that you have to complete again and again...

    Pros:
    Cons:

"There are lots of people saying that the gameplay on this is too simplistic and it is repetative, there is little skill involved in the eavesdropping and pick pocket missions. Personally this suits me down to the ground.

Many years ago I was a very good gamer. I could play for hours and master all the skill and moves involved. Now life has overtaken this. Work and home life ensures that while in my heart I enjoy playing games, I really do not have the time to master the complexities...

4 Star Rating Nothing new but entertaining.
By: G. Cossins "Wallet", on November 18, 2007
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Ubisoft seem to have promoted Assassin's Creed as a stealth game, which would make a lot of sense seeing as the main character is a medieval assassin but let's get this straight, the stealth elements are underwhelming and what you have instead is a beautiful, quirky action/platform game with a compelling story.

The majority of assassin's Creed puts you in control of Altair, moody badass and Hashshashin extraordinaire. Altair fumbles an important job for the guild and is stripped of...
