5 Star Rating Gotham needs your help.
    By: Mark H, on August 16, 2017
    Pros:
    Cons:

"A big, ambitious game featuring many of Batman's notorious 'rogues' gallery' who will all test your skills in a variety of ways.

    Simple but rewarding combat system.
    Accessible and playable.
Lots of bonus content and side quests.
Quirky and interesting cameo appearances from other Gotham alumni.
Will keep you busy for ages.

    By: S P Mead, on April 21, 2016
    Pros:
    Cons:

"‘Arkham City’ is the second entry in the Arkham series of videogames, and serves as a direct sequel to ‘Arkham Asylum’. The story takes place about a year after the conclusion of that earlier game.

You play as the Dark Knight, in a third-person adventure – involving lots of action (fighting) as well as strategy, detective work and puzzle solving. For this game, part of Gotham City has been sectioned off behind fortified walls, serving as a huge prison to...

5 Star Rating 3 fantastic games
    By: S P Mead, on April 13, 2016
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This Arkham trilogy consists of 3 Batman games: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Origins. Each of these games is excellent - so to get all 3 in one pack is fantastic!

The first game, 'Asylum', set new standards for 3rd person gaming (involving a mixture of fighting, exploration and detection, and general adventure). The plot involves Batman delivering the Joker to Gotham's mental institution - only for the Clown Prince of Crime to run amok and take control of the mad house...

5 Star Rating An underrated entry in the Arkham series
By: Stevo, on August 19, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Not sure why this game is still looked upon as the poor relation in the Arkham series, as it's a pretty good game in its own right. Sure, it doesn't bring much new to the table following the original two games, but story wise I thought this was superior to Arkham City's Hugo Strange plotline (focusing as it does on Batman's early years, his first encounter with the Joker & the start of Joker's subsequent love/hate relationship with his nemesis). The 8 assassins out to get Batman on this snowy...

3 Star Rating Polished and over-familiar.
By: Kirin No Koshin, on August 13, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Batman Arkham Knight is my third stab at Rocksteady’s Batman series, having completed Arkham Asylum and City. I enjoyed Asylum the most, it was a fresh experience that introduced the stealth, detective and choreographed combat gameplay the series is known for and nailed the feeling of being Batman. Arkham City was pretty much the same game spread over an entire city and where it gained in volume, scale and variety it lost out somewhat in focus, pacing and narrative.

4 Star Rating A great game nearly on par with its predecessors
By: Nicholas Hook, on July 19, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Pro's: Amazingly created and re-imagined open world of Gotham city, where you will not be short of side missions and activities, which are all interwoven and relevant in some sense to the main story. As always, the story and dialogue is top quality with the return of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill; the final sequence in particular of the main story is a brave, uncommon series of events unseen in an Arkham game, but pays off very well. The Batmobile is a brave addition to the Arkham series but...

2 Star Rating Delivery spot on, game itself left a lot to be desired
By: Darius Elphick, on December 17, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"The game arrived promptly and in good condition, so no complaints there.

As for the game itself, it's a copy-paste of Arkham City which in itself was good but rather than an expansion this feels like a step back. Some problems that stand out with gameplay are a city design which makes it hard to remain airborne, free flow combat which doesn't flow fluidly as it did in previous instalments and repetitive side-missions. Also the story itself contains several major plot holes and it...

By: yvaine, on December 16, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I was really looking forward to this game, only to find myself bored and annoyed at times. It does have that look that the two previous instalments had, but it doesn't feel the same. I know, different developers were making this game, but still. It supposed to be on the same level, but it just couldn't live up to its 'ancestors'. It does look stunning, but there's also more bugs and glitches. The first boss fight is a pain in the a.. too, with its repetitiveness...Could have been so much...

    By: M. Lee, on October 25, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Have to admit I ordered the Collectors edition as I have for the previous versions. Just to say well worth the money as the figurine and extras are nicely made and presented.

Now onto the game itself, as this latest Batman game wasn't made by rocksteady I was prepared for a little disappointment. I can say that this game maintains batman's feel and game play but misses some of rocksteady's polish. The game has locked up a couple of times in my first 2 hours and the cut scenes jar a...

The game has an huge open world that allows you to glide though Arkham city and fight thugs. Also Arkham city carried over the riddler trophies from the last game. Batman also has a wide range of new gadgets that really help you with stealth and combat, unfortunately this game has no multiplayer but makes up for it with an incredible single player...

"I recently bought a refurbished Dell XPS 15 and subsequently discovered lots of on-line complaints about epic fails of: the wireless, the track-pad and gaming performance (throttling). I was quickly able to establish that the first two problems did not appear. I bought three new-ish games to check out the gaming performance (which also seems perfectly okay); the last of which is this title. I have Windows 8 on this machine (it's not that bad - download Start8 from Stardock for 5 notes) and...

"This is an great game. One of the best I have ever played. It took a little time to get used to the controls, but the work the team put into making it is nothing short of spectacular. It is very detailed and if I have to say something bad about it, I simply cannot. A must have for every DC fan, adventure games fan, hell, every PS3 owner should have a copy of the game. As far as the GOTY edition goes, it gives access to:

    5 Star Rating Superb game!
By: Aron, on December 14, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Loved Arkham Asylum so I knew I couldn't go wrong with this, everything is simply better than the first game, harder too. the bonus content is well worth the extra bit of cash.

The game can be a bit overwhelming at first but once you get in the flow and get used to beating the day lights out of all the cronies it becomes seriously fun, you can roam and explore as you wish to complete the Riddler's challenges or get familiar with the area or complete the side and sstory missions. Very...

    5 Star Rating Great game
By: Matthew, on November 30, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Certainly one of the best games I've played in a while. I purchased Arkham Asylum a few months ago but I decided to wait for the game of the year edition of Arkham City to come out before I got the sequel. I was surprised it was released at such a cheap price considering all the DLC it has loaded on to it. I'd definitely recommend the game to anybody, whether they're a batman fan or not.

3 Star Rating Not all DLC content will work in UK.
    By: E. Hargrave, on August 8, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"The above review is incorrect about, "A free downloadable movie! It just can`t get better!"

The voucher code included with the game is not redeemable outside of the US. You have to download the movie from the Playstation network, but as this is a region 1 disk, the code only works for customers in region 1, not the UK or EU.

I was very disappointed after paying a premium for this game to learn that I would have to pay another £8.99 to download the movie, or £12.98 to buy...

"I had to give this 5 stars as it is the best game I hvae ever played. I have never had any incentive to go for a platinum trophy before but I have worked at getting this one just because of the sheer joy playing this game brings.

That being said. ?118????? What edition is this? Wait for a few weeks and get the "Game of the Year" edition which gives you all the extras and don't waste your money. Or get the basic and download the extras, whichever you like but spending that much money...

    By: A. Arslanagic-wakefield, on April 4, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Batman Arkham City is without doubt one of the best games of 2011, and can even rival Skyrim.
The graphics and concept art are breathtaking
The plot of the story is incredible, and the intrigue created by the atmosphere means you cannot tear yourself away from the computer once you have started playing.
The fighting is something which I have never experienced in a game before, to achieve combos you cannot mash the fight button, there is also a counter button to repel or block...

By: Sunny Daze, on November 25, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Batman: Arkham City has been available on consoles for a while now. Apparantly the PC release was delayed so that they could get DX11 working properly.

    KAPOW!!!

No it wasn't. It was delayed so that people wouldn't play a pirated PC version instead of forking out for a console version.

    BIFF!!!

How do I know this? Simply, because DX11 doesn't work. If I have it fully enabled, I can't even start the game proper. If I enable it but turn off tesselation,...

By: Andrew Driscoll, on October 31, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I was a massive fan of the first Arkham game, Arkham Asylum, this caused me to have almost crippling anticipation that this would be a bigger and better version. Disappointed? I think not!

The story is set a short while after Arkham Asylum (the plot gap can be bridged with the Batman: Arkham City comic book series) where the badly damaged Asylum has had to be shut down, and a new Prison facility has been formed by sectioning off a large area of Gotham City and putting all the inmates...

5 Star Rating Catwoman Steel Book Edition
    By: Jay B., on October 31, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"First off, the game IS brilliant, challenging and deep, with lot's to do and see and a worthy successor to the fantastic original, literally making you feel like Batman. The only thing I would change is the courser language this time around, which seems forced and overly used. It's purely to make it darker and more 'adult,' but really, just sounds dumb. Batman doesn't need to stoop to gimmicks like that, his world is already cool and dark.

    The Steel Book:

    I love this case...

    Pros:
    Cons:

"After some time with this game now I have found myself wholly impressed. I was a huge fan of the first of Rocksteady's Batman games (Arkham Asylum) having played it from beginning to end on numerous occasions.
Batman Arkham City takes everything that was so great about Asylum and expands upon it immeasurably, then adds a load of new stuff for you enjoyment! Firstly, after a stunning opening sequence the game drops you straight into the action in the heart of a city overrun with criminal...

    *Mild Spoilers

*I was a HUGE fan of Batman: Arkham Asylum, with its rich level of detail and inclusion of so many of the classic characters. To me, and many other fans of the Bat, there was just no way to top it. How wrong we were. If there was one fault with the near-perfect Arkham Asylum, it was that there was NO GOTHAM! One of the central parts of Batman is his film-noire, industrial, neon-lit city and the Asylum, for all its lovingly-crafted design, just wasn't Gotham City...
