5 Star Rating A First Rate X-Box/Playstation Game - No Needlessly Complicated Hand Controller Skills Required
By: Bill, on January 1, 2016
    Pros:
    Cons:

"As a teenager, 30 odd years ago, I had an Atari video games console, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing the likes of Space Invaders, Pac Man, Haunted House, Defender and Star Master.

I now own an X-Box 360 and a Playstation 2, and probably own over 50 games for those two systems, but this rally game is actually the only one which I really like. It is simple and straight forwards, just like the old Atari games, its easy to get fairly accomplished with the basic skills needed, and...

By: Mervyn, on October 16, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Very poor quality game compared to previous versions. Firstly the sound of the exhaust & turbo sound more like fireworks than actual real sound of both! The graphics are poor quality too, more like the playstation 2 graphics than xbox 360. The car moves like it is on ice(even though on any surface) and the brakes don't work how they're supposed to either. As for the stages, there seem to be no split times during each stage, so how are we supposed to know how we're doing? If I were you I would...

Now on to the game - to but it simple its just pure fun & no two races ever feel the same & what ever position you finnish you always get a feeling of satisfaction and that feeling of - next race i will do better & online is great, yet this is the 1st game of its type iv ever played yes it has flaws...

5 Star Rating a good motocross sim...with flaws
By: VincentA, on March 29, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I'm glad to see that MXGP has improved on everything from MUD:
    * it has a dual-stick control option for higher simulation
    * you can set your bike before each race - damping, gears etc
    * it has a helmet or first-person view
    * there is actual terrain deformation this time around
    * the animations of the riders are more realistic than before
    * it has a proper and lengthy Career mode
    * the physics are more realistic than in MUD - to me it is even better than in the...

    By: Mr. P. S. Rogers, on December 26, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"My review is really simple at the bottom line : Buy WRC 3, it is far superior in every way.

In WRC 4 you have less cars than in 3. In 4 you have the WRC, WRC 2, WRC 3 & Junior WRC cars. In WRC 3 you have those plus 70's/80's/90/s cars and other. The tracks/roads are nowhere near as good as in WRC 3 nor do you have head to head stages. The cars in WRC 4 are 'wooden' to drive with very little 'movement' and there is just simply the rallies, nothing else to entertain you.

3 Star Rating Quite a lonely experience
    By: W Brooks, on July 9, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"First off, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the previous games in the Dirt series. However this one, as Amazon's description of 3 stars says: "It's okay".

The gameplay itself is of a high standard, with the car handling seeming quite realistic. The sounds are great on track too, and it's difficult enough that there is a feeling of accomplishment when you drift around a turn nicely.

However, I would say that the experience of playing the game feels quite 'lonely'...

3 Star Rating Decent but no classic
By: M. Wright "Rob Johnston", on June 11, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I have played all the DiRT games and have to say this would be my least favourite (DiRT 2 was long but worth it)

The tour is a little short with no real challenge, the joyride is quite fun but gets repetitive and you find yourself doing donuts and drifting over and over. I quickly completed the game and all missions in about 6 hours.

The positives are some of the new modes can be relatively fun especially the 8ball where you could be clearly in the lead but lose it all by...

Although I enjoyed the Dirt and Need For Speed series, I wasn't sure how they would fit the Forza style into that kind of open world game, and feared that it may replace the regular Forza games. Well I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed this game, plus apparently it will not be replacing the regular Forza games.
Turn 10 have created a beautiful environment that is fun to drive in, with plenty of...

By: Haunted Nostril "TaT", on May 27, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"So Dirt's gone all gnarly and trashy eh? Well according to an interview I read Codemasters has decided to split the series in half and leave the hoonigan style car wiggling and general motor based tomfoolery to the "Showdown" camp thus letting the core Dirt series deal with the proper meat and veg of rally driving. So how has it worked out? Well I'll try to keep in mind the aforementioned parting of the series notion in my mind while I pick away at this the more angsty face of Dirt...

By: Rich Williams "Cho 24", on June 21, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Just a short review iv decided to do, partly because i cant believe some of the rubbish iv read written about this game.
Some reviewers seem VERY upset that this is NOT a Colin McRae Rally game and have given it scores of 1 or 2 out of 5 because of this. I can only assume that these people can not read, as the title of the game is in large letters(and a number) on the front. If anyone has bought this wanting a 100% point to point Rally game then they clearly havn't thought about it very...

5 Star Rating No issues for me whatsoever

    Pros:
    Cons:

"I have had no problems with any bugs, it hasn't crashed for me at all. In fact it is better than dirt2 in this regard, for a start it will detect if the controller has disconnected and wait for you to reconnect, Dirt2 wouldnt do this and you would sometimes have to restart the game.

Note that AMD users can benefit from the 11.b drivers, which improve performance specifically in this game (and the Witcher 2). I have an ATI 5770 and get over 40fps on ultra settings...

5 Star Rating Best Racing game since Gran Tursimo 5!
By: Kevin White, on May 24, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"After playing Dirt 2 for 30+ hours i was really looking forward to dirt 3. There wasn't much hype so i wasn't sure what to make of it but after receiving it yesterday and having played it now for 4 hours i am very impressed. First to start off with the gameplay:

    GAMEPLAY: 9.5/10

The handling of the cars are solid and alot better than other titles this year e.g. shift 2. The variety of events, from rally to Gymkhana, are a lot of fun. I am very pleased that it has focused...

"I would say i am a massive gamer, but i have never been into racing games as cars really don't interest me, i hold a licence to drive but i don't know a thing about them. But as i sat and played need for speed: Shift and realised what a awesome game it really is, i looked into buying a steering wheel. I did not want to spend mega bucks on a steering wheel becuase, 1, i cant afford it and 2, im not a massive driving game fan. I spent weeks looking at different wheels online and how people...

    4 Star Rating GRID Off-road
By: Duncan McDonald "Dunk", on September 7, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"The Colin McRae rally games took a dip with every subsequent release from the first one way back on PS1. The long running series returned to form with the excellent Dirt. The sequel though, bears little resemblence to its predecessors.

This is essentially Grid off-raod. Obviously using the same engine, it looks, feels and plays like Grid. As a stand alone title it is very good. The graphics, whilst embellished with a golden hue are top notch as is the sound. The menus take a bit...

4 Star Rating Different type of rally
By: taf, on July 27, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"In comparison with previous CMRs (except DIRT) it was really different experience. To be honest I liked the old ones more. Not the games but the type of games. DIRT 2 is an excellent game but it is not the same Colin McRae Rally as it used to be. Maybe it is even better beacause it is hard to find something new in this genre. One thing I do not like: the game is too US. I can't find better words for this. Xgames and other that kind of shows are really cool but European rally has different kind...

    3 Star Rating Dakar Sim
By: Duncan McDonald, on July 7, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Baja get a bit of a bumpy ride. I guess that is the point of it. Not a great racer but it still holds its own.

This is an off road racing sim. Not unlike Motorstorm but without the craziness, speed and fun. In fact it has more in common with Dakar rallying and similar to some of the styles in Dirt 1+2.

The single race allows you to pick a style, a track (some are locked) and a car and away you go. The online doesn't allow you to pick anything as it doesn't seem to...

5 Star Rating Americanised? Big Deal! Unrealistic? You must be joking!
    By: , on February 1, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Stunning. Do I need to say any more? Well, I thought it summed the game up pretty well but I guess I do...

The game is based around you, a rookie rally driver travelling the world in your camper van in search of fame and glory. The "RV" is your menu, and you basically stand in the middle and use the right stick to pan around, which is quite interesting as the graphics in there are incredibly detailed! You could spend hours just exploring the menu! The whole game is basically a career...

The game has become very american-ised, this is instantly noticeable, it feels much bigger and bolder, the voice of american driver Travis Pastrana also narrates the menus and features (if you know about rallying you'll find it a bit patronising, if not it will be helpful) and his...

4 Star Rating Colin McRae Rally 3 - watch your axle
    By: Mr. S. M. Murphy, on November 7, 2002
    Pros:
    Cons:

"For those of us who payed CMR 2 on the PS1 the first thing that strikes you with the latest version is the visuals. The car is far more detailed than before the increase in polygon count from some 800 to 14,000 sees to this. Mud accumulates gradually on the outside of the car (snow equally so) as seen from the one outside camera view. The in car view especially is quite great and the weather effects particularly from this position quite astounding. Rain realistically spots on the windscreen...
