"I've been a fan of Dragon Age since day one, so I've been waiting for this release with bated breath for a looooooooong time :P And I can safely say it did NOT disappoint.
Character customisation has come a long way since Origins, and even DA2. You can edit the facial features right down to the definition of cheek bones. There are some pretty cool tutorials online that show you how to make an Arya Stark or Angelina Jolie's Maleficant (courtesy of now having the Qunari as a playable...

3 Star Rating A superb game buried in bugs
By: BiafronPunk, on December 15, 2014
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Dragon Age Inquisition is a great game. Unfortunately it's also an incredibly buggy game.

I'll start with the good. DA:I is huge. Not just as big as the previous games but Skyrim huge. It's not open world in quite the same way though. There isn't a single map you can traverse on foot. There are around 10 enormous open regions you can visit via fast travel once they're unlocked. Once you're in a particular region almost nothing needs an extra load screen, be it a town or a cave it all...

"Got Origins and Awakening on Dragon Age Ultimate, two glorious games for the price of one. It looks easy, but you have to think outside of the box to complete this. I thought I was doing well, until I ran into this guy who showed me, how blind I was. He has helped me start again. I know him only as GregB, but to him is the credit for all that I have completed; And I am still learning.

5 Star Rating A triumph of story over game engine.
    By: F. Martin, on May 31, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I have to confess that I came to this game late. In fact, it was immediately after sinking countless hours into Skyrim. Consequently I have some sympathy for the reviewers here who claim it's nothing like Skyrim. They're correct, it's an entirely different game ethos. It's not like any Bethesda game, nor is it like Dragon Age II in any other way than the lore. I had such a shock transition that at first I didn't like it at all. But something told me this game had hidden depths and I'm so...

    5 Star Rating Loved it
By: Kenny, on December 25, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I really enjoy this game. I first finished it on the Xbox, but when I switched to ps3 (for the blu-ray player and I didn't want 2 consoles in the house), I bought this so I can play it again. I liked it mainly for the storyline. I found the action reasonably enjoyable when playing as a mage or rogue, but I found the fighter to be a bit dull (just pick your target and instruct to attack, with the occasional special move).

I found the stand alone expansion stories to be just okay -...

5 Star Rating A pleasant surprise for a mass effect 2 fan
By: Fantastic Miss Fox "Fantastic Miss Fox", on February 17, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I came to this game the long way round never expecting to like something like this.

After playing and loving Mass effect 2 and I mean loving it an indecent amount. I looked around for something similar only to be dissapointed. Finally my friend leant me a copy of dragon age 2. I was dubious as im not really a fantasy fan and the combat didnt look my cup of tea. But it was made by the Bioware so i thought id give it a whirl. After playing for a few hours, i was pleasantly surprised...

2 Star Rating A Huge Step Backwards
By: wally, on August 27, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I have never been as disappointed by a video game as I was by Dragon Age 2. It's not that it's a terrible game (I'd say it's slightly below average). Rather the problem is that it's considerably worse than Dragon Age Origins in almost every respect.

Almost all of this game's faults come down to two factors. Firstly it seems incredibly rushed, as though Bioware have shipped a half finished game to cash in on the first game's success. Dragon Age Origins took five years to make, and it...

2 Star Rating Make an effort Bioware...
By: Barking Wilder, on April 10, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I want to start off by saying the game is not half bad. I have just finished the game so I thought it time to give my critique. That said...I will continue.

My main problem is the heavy recycling of interior cells. Its amazing how Bioware thought none of their players would notice the same 'Dungeon' time after time. For this reason I say "Make an effort". We're paying for game which is following an epic like Dragon Age: Origins and a game which is several steps behind Mass Effect 2...

2 Star Rating I can see a sad trend emerging.
By: Dander - UK, on March 20, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"First of all: in my 20 years of C-RPG experience I've never written a game review before, and that's because I've never felt the need to do so. I believe that with Drageon Age 2 a worrying trend is emerging, a trend I would like to address here: short development phases (18 month for DA2), incomplete game world and story, simplistic game play to broaden the audience, demanding full price for a game while preparing DLCs to fill in the remaining gaps. Bioware was once regarded "the bringer of...

3 Star Rating FIGHTING MORE BUGS THAN DARKSPAWN
By: NeuroSplicer, on March 3, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I recently completed yet another run in the Dragon Age universe and I realized that I had never reviewed the expansion by itself. And it certainly deserves its own review, even if for the wrong reasons.

ONLY THE DARKSPAWN HOLD THE STORY TOGETHER
You can either start with a fresh character or import your hero from DAO (for issues with this, please read on). The problem is that of all the characters from the the original game only...Oghren is available as a companion, you are...

4 Star Rating The Dragon Age to choose despite flaws
By: Dan, on February 18, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Dragon Age is one of the best if not the best attempt at bringing the old school RPG into modern times. There are many good reviews of the original and the expansion on Amazon, so instead of going through heavily trodden ground I will try to review the collection.

The Original Dragon Age tried a different tactic to games I have seen before for protecting its profits. Around 5-10% of the development time for the game went into creating DLC in parallel with creating the game. This DLC...

5 Star Rating Great game and good value
    By: Obriens2uk, on November 27, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This game is by far the best game on the xbox, i have played both mass effect games which i thought were ok but this leaves them trailing. The sheer size of this game without any add on packs is nothing short of incredible. The characters are very good, very good story, the upgrade system is very good, the amount of items, armour, races, weapons, skills, specialisations, spells is great. There is so much to do and after completing it i went and started over again.

    I purchased this version after...

5 Star Rating The best RPG since Final Fantasy 7
By: Angela Davey, on September 14, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Bioware, makers of Mass Effect, bring dragons to life in this stunning RPG developed by EA Games. You are one of the last remaining Grey Wardens and Ferelden's only hope of defeating the Blight of Darkspawn and the dreaded Arch Demon.

You are given the choice of playing as a human, an elf or a dwarf. You then select your combat type, you can either be a mage, a warrior or a rogue. You can also choose your background type (whether you want to be a noble, a city elf, etc.) You then get...

    4 Star Rating "Just" great.
    By: V. Soriano, on March 29, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"To begin with, this is a great and worthy expansion. If you liked the original game, you will like this one, no doubt. It's tailored in the very very same fashion.

That said, it has a huge burden over its shoulders: the original game was TOO good. Most people have even played Mass Effect 2, also from Bioware and very similar to Dragon age, and Mass Effect 2 is damm good. So, for this Dragon Age expansion pack everyone is expecting it to be even better. We want a lot of characters,...

    4 Star Rating Passionately Recommended
By: Mr. G. Patmore, on January 11, 2010
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Being a fan of medieval fantasies similar to Oblivion, loyal to the makers of Knights of the Old Republic, and a massive fan of RPGs: this game was for me. Dragon Age while not delivering what feels like the whole package, is a real time-sucker. There are many times where I've told myself: "Okay, another half an hour an then I'll come off", and then find that I've played an hour, which eventually turns into an hour and a half and so on and so forth.

The games I listed at the start of...

4 Star Rating Better than expected
By: Jason King "jasedeace", on November 24, 2009
    Pros:
    Cons:

"In terms of story line, Dragon Age's is the tried and tested evil-horde-threatening-the-kingdom plot, with a dash of Machiavellian political ambition thrown in. But although the basic premise is pretty generic, the sub-plots, characters and locations are interesting enough to keep you engaged, and a good job has been done on fleshing out the NCPs who make up your party, particularly the often inane banter that goes on between them whilst you're wandering around exploring.

    The game...
