4 Star Rating Atmosphere is Classic "Alien"
By: Brighton Breezy, on May 3, 2015
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Firstly, I normally can't stand first-person games and have avoided them for years. I find the field of view too restrictive, humans have approximately a 180-degree field of view when looking forward and understandably games cannot recreate this. Secondly, I am also not a massive fan of the Alien series, having only recently watched the series for the first time, but I did find them quite enjoyable.

With this in mind, for ?19.99 I thought I'd give Alien: Isolation a go, and am glad I...

4 Star Rating Beware the Raid Mode!
By: Winston Butler, on May 31, 2013
    Pros:
    Cons:

"The main game (Campaign Mode) is a fine return to form for the series. It plays like the earlier games and that is no bad thing. It's a little on the short side and it's not without its flaws, hence the four-star rating.

It is the Raid Mode, however, that is the real star of this show. Beware the Raid Mode because it will consume your every waking hour - it is that addictive! Playing it will result in divorce or separation, your children being taken into care and your pets leaving...

3 Star Rating No fear this time around
By: Jeff Franklin, on October 17, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"The third instalment of the Fear series released on this generation of consoles and it appears that the game has rediscovered a small percentage of the magic that made the first game a classic in my opinion.
The premise is the same as the previous games - shoot loads of bad guys and monsters while on your way to see Alma. Nothing new here then for fans of the previous games apart from the fact that the horror element has actually been turned up a notch from the second game which for all...

    3 Star Rating Fear 3 review ps3
By: alan, on July 2, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"The game is very interesting. The gamplay is as you would expect and the fear "scary" atmosphere lives on. Took around 5 hours to complete which is disappointing. I did enjoy this game until the very ending scene. Not to spoil anything but be prepared for a disappointing ending; The creators of F.E.A.R could have rounded off the game very well - But because the franchise is not interested in good reviews it puts in a crappy "cliff hanger" in the plot to set the scene for another game. The...

3 Star Rating Too short, too much military, not enough horror
By: Scoobyfan, on February 19, 2012
    Pros:
    Cons:

"In comparing FEAR 3 with the other FEAR games, I would have to say this is my least favorite. The story line left much to be desired. Plus there was not a good balance between the military action and the horror story. I prefer much more of the horror part. As far as game play, there were too few points where I really had to work hard to get past that stage of game play, even on the hardest levels. I'm hoping for more FEAR sequels, but hope that the game returns to more horror and breath-taking...

2 Star Rating A Brilliant Game - Ruined
By: Snuffy, on November 18, 2011
    Pros:
    Cons:

"When I first started playing FEAR 3 I thought it was fantastic. Nothing too complicated, amazingly smooth and detailed graphics, excellent sound as well.
But it has two things wrong with it. One is a minor thing, the other a huge annoyance. So annoying in fact that my PC is lucky it's not found itself being heaved out of the window.

The minor point is that FEAR 3 does not know what type of game it wants to be; one minute you are running round, shooting solders, and the next...

4 Star Rating Leaving left four dead for fear two...
By: Coles Law, on February 18, 2009
    Pros:
    Cons:

"I got this one simply off the press it had been getting, not knowing anything about the first game and reading other reviews I worried if it'd matter? Well maybe, to hardcore gamers, but if I'm honest, not me. I meandered through the levels not knowing what happened previously and it didn't stop me from blowing holes in people with no remorse or care of the earlier game.
On disc insertion, gameplay starts up nice and quickly, a small back story, then you're off. Familier controls enable...

4 Star Rating A truly exciting and scarily good experience
By: BritReader, on February 15, 2009
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Having never played the first F.E.A.R game, I went into this game hoping that the hype and people's reccomendations would live up to what I imagined and this game has certainly exceeded my expectations.

The gameplay in F.E.A.R 2 is fast-paced, exciting and a rollercoaster ride from the get go. There's a nice selection of weapons for you to play and experiment with and the Power Armored Unit really makes you feel like a destructable machine and is really satisfying to control and blow...

4 Star Rating play before making a decision ..........
By: Slayer, on July 18, 2007
    Pros:
    Cons:

"This game is nowhere near as bad as some of you are saying.
    1) Your character starts of slow and speeds up through the game - be patient and you will be rewarded
    2) The AI enemies are so much more inteligent ( they use grenades well and dive for cover ) than those in Resistance FOM
    3) Play this in the dark with 5.1 sounds turned up and you will be afraid of the dark
    4) The bullet time feature is so very very cool - use it wisely
    5) The gore and blood sets the story...

5 Star Rating It gave me the F.E.A.R..............
By: Im the Badger, on November 13, 2006
    Pros:
    Cons:

"Ok, kind of short and fairly sweet. This game oozes class. As a member of a specialist SWAT-style team, you are sent in to hunt the bad guys. Easy, huh? NO! The enemy A.I. is very responsive, and intelligent too. They will dive for cover, or try to flush you out with grenades, or hide in the shadows and jump out behind you whilst you are attacking their teammates. Also, they can take a good dose of pain before they fall. So, how do you beat them? With your own selection of guns, added to...
